What is the Beyond Brave Community?

We begin with the idea that sometimes trauma and grief get stuck and make it hard to live our best lives right now. Most of us didn't even realize that what happened a long time ago was still affecting our bodies, emotions, behaviors and spirits until someone pointed it out.

Our community focuses on personal growth and healing for people who have experienced a wide range of traumas, and especially sexual violence trauma. We don't dwell on the details of the bad things that happened, nor do we define your trauma for you. Have you been harmed? You belong here with us.

How Membership Works

You must be feeling overwhelmed, confused, stressed, maybe even angry or deeply sad right now. I know this because I'm a survivor myself and used to feel all that and more all the time.

You have to start healing somewhere, with real-life actions. Healing actions are sometimes amazingly helpful right away... And sometimes we try and try and feel like nothing makes a difference.

What we really need is the support of others who are healing. We need conversations, new ideas, stories from other people's experience, support to keep going, and strong hands to lift us up when we fall down. That's the Beyond Brave Community.

And we need group leaders to show us what we could do. To teach and also to guide. That's me, Evelyn Fielding, and mentors within the community who are ready to apply skills and tools in healthy ways.

So, let's try things together, celebrate every step, learn from mistakes, and heal ourselves, each other, and maybe even a little bit of the world.

Your monthly membership includes an engaged community, weekly events and meetings, fast skills groups, and a whole lot more. Once you've joined, you can choose what you have time to focus on and take a short or long course if you want to. You can even get one-to-one individual coaching if that would be most helpful for you right now.

Community Conversations

Here's just a sample of what we talk about within the Beyond Brave Community:

  • Triggers, and what to do about them
  • Bad emotional habits, and what to do about them
  • Becoming a safe person so you can advocate for yourself, friends and family who experience trauma
  • Setting and enforcing boundaries
  • Detoxifying relationships (romantic, family, friend and work)
  • Real safety and self-care, not the fluffy stuff
  • Untangling from our past stories, and telling new stories about ourselves
  • Healing body, brain, mind, emotions and spirit
  • Daily life challenges as only survivors can discuss

A note to introverts and shy folx: Sometimes we join groups and simply lurk, soaking up information and experiences from other people who post and have conversations. Join the community and take some time to feel comfortable. Then, take small steps outside your comfort zone and begin to interact. That's what community is all about: all voices are important, perhaps most important when we are shy or introverted.

And finally, current members build scholarship funding for future members by taking actions and contributing. More information on the reserve fund is inside the community. Join for the small monthly membership fee and explore scholarships for other opportunities if you need to.

About Evelyn Fielding

One of Evelyn's superpowers is inspiring trauma and grief survivors to break emotional bad habits and leave trauma in the past. All survivors are brave, and all deserve to experience what is beyond brave: healing and wholeness despite the bad things that happened.

Evelyn has an MFA degree and has worked as a sexual assault advocate for more than 15 years. She's the creator of dozens of courses and is a best-selling author. She's spoken to small and large audiences, but her favorite speaking gig is teaching Body Safety to five-year-olds.

Most of all, Evelyn is on a mission to help survivors lead better lives, whatever that means for each individual.
